More about Visual Storytelling

What to Expect

Visual Storytelling runs one week long, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM - 12 PM. It takes place at Glow Hall, 246 N. Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, MI, 49007.

Visual Storytelling is supervised by Christopher, our LARA- and CPR-certified counselor-in-charge. Each half-day we'll learn new techniques in photography and video, experiment with concepts in visual storytelling, and build community through games and artistic collaboration. On Friday, campers will put on a mini-exhibition of the week's best work!

Campers should bring a water bottle. A snack will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Lunch is not provided.

How do I Register?

Our Policies

In general, participants in Visual Storytelling are entering grades 4-12, but we are thrilled to have younger participants who are up to the challenge! We make age exceptions on a case-by-case basis, so please get in touch if you think it's right for your child.

Glow Hall values everyone's experience, so we ask for campers' help in creating an inclusive, safe, and fun environment. Participants are expected to respect our space, our equipment, and each other. If not, we reserve the right to reevaluate whether the School of Sound & Vision is right for you.

Please do not send your child to camp if they are feeling ill or have a fever. We follow CDC protocols for COVID or other disease exposure. Inform camp staff of any medical conditions, allergies, or emergency protocols. Basic first aid can be administered on-site, and our staff members are CPR certified. For serious concerns, emergency contacts will be called.

We understand that summer plans can shift, and we aim to be as flexible as possible while still supporting our small, independent program. Please review the following refund policy for all summer session enrollments:
